THE LEGACY CHASE

On September 27, 2008, Shawan Downs will host the eighth annual Legacy Chase. The Legacy Chase has become an annual social event for many, marrying the excitement of steeplechasing with the beauty of the countryside.

Proceeds from this event benefit GBMC HealthCare. The 2007 event generated $175,000 that was donated to the nursing department at GBMC.

Shawan Downs' signature event, the Legacy Chase, features multiple steeplechase races, that award close to $100,000 in purse money. In 2007, a record crowd of over 15,000 attended the Seventh Running of the Legacy Chase at Shawan Downs.
